Welcome! I am honored to be your student’s 8th grade ELAR teacher at Hays Middle School this year. This is my 21st year teaching English. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction. My goal this year is for your student to discover the power of literacy and writing in their lives. I want them to see that words on paper are a springboard to thinking critically about the amazing world around them. Your student will learn to use language and words confidently to make connections between what they read, what they think, and what they write. It’s an adventure I am excited to take with your student!

On a personal note, my husband and I recently relocated to the great state of Texas from California. We have a 22 year old daughter who just graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics. We have two fur baby kittens, Athena and Daphne. We are having fun exploring Texas and figuring out all the best things to do. In addition to reading and spending time with my family, I love to channel my inner athlete. I have completed 11 half-marathons, 1 marathon, 8 triathlons, and countless 5K and 10k races. My current passion is indoor spin! It's a great cardio workout!
